October 2010: Pumpkin Pecan Oatmeal

A guest post by Nurture
Saying goodbye to summer is never easy, but at least it’s a gradual farewell.  Evenings come a little earlier and the breath of morning blows a bit crisper each day.  October arrives just as we’re getting used to the idea of fall and with it the desire for warm, cozy meals, especially breakfast.  Pumpkin Pecan Oatmeal, with the same spices you’d find in pumpkin pie, is a delectable way to start a brisk and busy day. You can top this with a little maple syrup or, for that really grey rainy/snowy morning, a hefty spoonful of whipped cream.  Please click here to view the full “Pumpkin Pecan Oatmeal recipe (PDF).

  1. Wow! Wow! Wow! I made this today and love it! It is so easy and has all the delicious tastes and smells of Autumn. Instead of lighting a “pumpkin spice” scented candle, make this and your house will smell just as wonderful – then you can eat it – you can’t eat the candle!

Yummy. My kids who normally will not eat oatmeal love this and even request it.
